if you find a good chrome shop - i think chrome is the way to go - much shinier (those that have seen my engine in person can attest to this hands down) and much easier to clean and maintain. The down side is 2fold - 1st is the price - chrome is about the most costly thing you can do (paint, chrome, powdercoat, polish) and 2nd is the heat it holds. My chrome guy actually gauranteed my plenum would not crack (not gauranteed if i drop a damn socked on it or something) but from heat and wear and so on. So if you have the right place do the work its good. just my $.02 from my past year and half of trial and errors!
